New Advances in Male Infertility Research: Ovobank-Ovolearning Present at ASRM 2024

investigación de la infertilidad masculina

Within the framework of the annual congress of the Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) held in Denver in 2024, Ovobank has presented two communications with preliminary results from the highly significant multicenter study: Molecular Characterization of Subclinical Entities of Male Infertility (AZOONOMICS2). In this study, Ovobank is a collaborating center alongside other important national and international assisted reproduction centers and with the Department of Genetics and Institute of Biotechnology, Biomedical Research Center (CIBM) of the University of Granada. This scientific study addresses the challenges of male infertility, a problem that affects millions of men worldwide. This important study represents a significant step in understanding the genetic and molecular causes of severe infertility and offers new perspectives for the diagnosis and personalized treatment of this disorder.

The first communication focuses on unraveling the genetic determinants of severe idiopathic spermatogenic failure, identifying key genetic variants in genes related to spermatogenesis. This could help explain the underlying causes of this condition in many patients where infertility remains unexplained.

On the other hand, the second communication presented utilizes single-cell RNA sequencing technology to analyze the cellular populations of semen in men with different types of non-obstructive azoospermia. This analysis has revealed differences in cellular compositions that could help non-invasively predict the success of testicular sperm extraction (TESE), providing new hope for those struggling with severe infertility.

Ovobank continues to lead advancements in the field of assisted reproduction, supporting scientific research and offering innovative solutions to help those who wish to fulfill their dream of becoming parents.
